Volunteers

We had more than 70 volunteers – including some students – who assisted with a variety of aspects of the conference, including audiovisual and computer support, registration, food services, etc. Depending on the nature and extent of the volunteering they were willing to do, the cost to attend the conference was reduced or waived entirely, and for most this was an important motivation. With large numbers of people “in transition” – which ought to mean, “moving from an unsustainable to a sustainable way of life,” but actually (as we all know) is a euphemism for being out of a job – we had many more requests than we could accommodate; but without this volunteer effort we could not have put on the event.

Here are some of the core volunteers; we are inviting them to post their bios and photos and aspirations to the site as a way of recognizing their individual service as “unsung heroes of the sustainability revolution.”
