Walter Kanzler, EcoCollaborative
Walt Kanzler, AIA, LEED A.P., is the founder of Eco Collaborative a progressive Architectural practice based in Morristown, New Jersey dedicated to providing economical, environmental and socially responsible solutions to meet the growing demand for Green Buildings. Walter is committed to Sustainable Design Solutions with the goal of assisting in the transformation of the Residential and Commercial marketplace towards Environmental Stewardship and High Performance Building and Design.
With over 18 years of experience in the field of Architecture and Sustainable Design, Walter has designed projects ranging from a 600 SF library interior to a 450,000 SF University Campus. His project experience includes residential, multi-family housing, commercial, office interiors, entertainment and gaming, laboratory, theater, library, transportation and educational design.
Walter has worked with world class Architectural firms including Moshe Safdie & Associates and Frank Gehry & Associates during his time in California.
Walter worked for several years with Montclair State University where he became the Director of Design and acted as the Senior Project Manager for Montclair State University’s University Hall a 275,000 SF, eight story Flagship Facility. University Hall was the first and the largest officially LEED certified building in New Jersey’s Higher Education Market.
A strong proponent of Sustainable Design in New Jersey,Walter initiated LEED certification for multiple buildings and Environmentally Sensitive Design at Montclair State University as well as in his own practice. Walter is a LEED accredited professional since 2002 and a member of the USGBC (US Green Building Council), and recently appointed Residential Green Building Advocate for the USGBC-NJ.
